Texas Parks and Wildlife Department make online hunting applications mandatory

This summer, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will no longer be accepting paper applications to the state's popular Public Hunt Drawing System.

According to the TPWD, those who wish to apply will have to do so online through a secure credit card payment system. Applicants will be able to track their status at any time and can apply to multiple categories. Included among the two dozen categories are Special Permit Hunts, E-Postcard Selection Hunts and U.S. Forest Service Antlerless Deer Permits. The online applications provide the added benefit of extending the deadline to 11:59 p.m. on the cutoff date.

The content management service used by the TPWD will allow hunters to browse the catalog by category as well as location. Permits will be emailed and either can be printed or stored on a mobile device.

Paperless systems work well for regulatory compliance. According to Larson Allen, document management software allows organizations to quickly approve documents and reduce the amount of paper sent back and forth. Often in these cases, approvals are built around the use of physical files.

This leaves room for them to get lost and lends itself to slowed progress. Document storage solutions that allow the consumer to search and manage information are hugely beneficial to operational efficiency.
