School districts around the country eliminate paper

Colleges and universities have seen the benefits that paperless document management can provide. Not only does going digital make their organizations more efficient, but it can also help attract the best and brightest to their schools. But higher education isn't the only system embracing paperless operations: K-12 schools across the country have also been making the transition to electronic processes. 

Durant, Oklahoma's Daily Democrat recently reported that the Durant ISD school board held its first ever paperless meeting. In an effort to conserve paper and go green, administrators worked entirely from laptops as they reviewed the contracts for various school services and approved contract renewals for several teachers and staff members. Working without paper allowed school board members to work together efficiently and review documents as a group.

Glen Rose ISD in Texas is another district that has recently come to embrace paperless solutions. The Glen Rose Reporter recently announced that, beginning with the 2013-2014 school year, registration will no longer be paper-based but instead will occur entirely online. This eliminates the need for the hefty registration packets that parents once had to fill out for their children at the beginning of each year. Returning students will find that their information is already stored digitally, which means that parents can simply check to make sure that the data is correct and confirm its accuracy. This information management system should save valuable time for busy parents and school administrators. 

Going paperless is a great choice for local school districts, as it allows parents to submit personal information in a secure, online fashion rather than on a paper that could become lost or destroyed. With paperless school registration, parents can easily find their application and update their information at any time, without the hassle of digging through boxes or cabinets.
