Professionals in varied fields boost security with digital platforms

The advantages of electronic enterprise content management are so far-reaching that professionals in nearly every field can take advantage of these solutions. Because these systems offer improved security, better organization and more effective collaboration between employees, digital data storage has become a priority for professionals who work in varied fields, including finance and law enforcement.

According to CPA Practice Advisor, implementing online banking tools is a becoming a priority for both business and personal financial management. The source pointed to a survey of Bill.com users which found that 93 percent of respondents who work remotely want to go paperless. In addition, 63 percent of those surveyed said that they were already close to achieving a completely paperless environment. According to Doug Sleeter, founder and CEO of accounting solutions firm the Sleeter Group, this is because more accountants than ever are moving their applications and data to the cloud.  

"Going paperless is a key driver for all these systems," Sleeter said, according to the news source. "Combining paperless documents with cloud-based payment solutions not only saves time, but it also saves money, improves accuracy and increases collaboration between accountants and their clients."

The Times of India recently noted that police forces throughout the country are moving to electronic document management as well. Criminal records at the Railway Police Force have all been moved online, and police officers are being trained on systems that would provide them with real-time access to crime information. The new, paperless system is expected to be implemented throughout India by 2015.

While accounting firms and police stations may not be similar in many regards, they do have one thing in common: Like most organizations today, they can take advantage of paperless document management to streamline various business processes.
