Because bills arrive directly in a subscriber's email inbox, there's no need to waste the resources that would have been used to print physical copies of the invoices. This reduces pollution in several areas – not only does it cut down on the use of paper and ink, but it also saves electricity and fossil fuels that would have been used during the process of printing and shipping bills.
In addition, a Bankrate study recently found that making the switch to paperless billing can help consumers save money. According to the source, organizations like car insurance companies can improve their information management by going digital, and therefore offer discounts to policy holders who take advantage of paperless or automatic billing. Eight of the 10 largest car insurance providers in the U.S. charge their customers less for paperless billing, making it a great choice for providers and drivers alike.
