Paperless voter registration could be coming to Florida soon.
The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections announced that it believes online voter registration should be working by 2017. The association said that when it researched pros and cons of the change, it found only benefits.
Some of the advantages listed include voter accessibility, fewer data entry errors, protection against fraud and cost reductions.
Currently, Florida voter registration is still done by mail. The application is available online, but must be printed out and mailed for submission.
The association noted that there is no partisan divide when it comes to online voting – it's popular among both parties.
